While the next event, Rund um die Kö, is waiting for us around the corner, we would like to take a quick look back at the 2024 edition of düsseldorf300. You can't say that the weather on June 16th really wanted to spoil us, but given some of the capriciousness this summer and the conditions of the 2023 edition, it could have hit us all much harder. And even if it got wet in between and the wind was no friend from time to time - the 2024 edition also showed that long distances don't have to be torture, but can be fun from the first to the last minute.

Some of us were able to find out just how much on the 200km stretch, which we completed as the last team of the day, equipped with plenty of tubes, sealant and a few other little helpers. Our peloton grew along the way, and the good mood of all the riders was palpable. The high number of newcomers to the long-distance business is fantastic; many of them completed 200 or 300 kilometers for the first time this year.

In her film, Kerstin captured the images of the day, which will hopefully provide many fellow riders with a beautiful memory and also a little inspiration for such an event.

We at the Mütze would like to thank first and foremost all those who made this day possible for the Cycling Club Düsseldorf and us with their commitment, support and good humor. You provided food and drink at five refreshment stations, gave a total of two hundred participants a small rest area, made check-in possible the day before and in the morning and made the final pasta party in the Mütze courtyard an experience.
