While the classic Croix de Fer has a timeless look with traditional tube diameters, a continuous 1 1/8 head tube and classic chain stays, its younger, wilder brother Fugio comes with a tapered head tube, carbon fork and a lowered chain stay on the drive side. The Fugio, made from Reynolds 725 tube set, can be equipped with both a 700C wheelset with tires up to 40mm and a 650B wheelset with 47mm. While the Croix de Fer, as part of the generic term gravel bike, has always been geared towards touring bikes, the Fugio develops its strengths in fast off-road use. But with high-quality wide slicks, you also get a modern, agile and versatile fun vehicle for all purposes on the 650B wheels, which can handle all kinds of tasks from bikepacking to daily commutes comfortably, quickly and with a lot of fun. There are plenty of mounting points, from mudguards to luggage racks, any-cages and top tube bags, everything is available. Just like the Croix de Fer, the Fugio is also compatible with a front derailleur, so you have countless installation options open to you.

When it comes to sizes and geometry, our recommendation is from the Croix de Fer - if you want a sportier seat, you can choose the smaller frame size.

While some new editions of the Fugio as a complete bike are now equipped with an aluminum frame, the frame set still comes in steel, which we appreciate thanks to the riding characteristics.

The spray paint looks funky in the color scheme with the neon yellow decals, but there's no accounting for taste.

We currently have all frame sizes available in small quantities. Since the frame is currently hardly available in Europe, we are now offering it online for a short time. Of course you can pick up all frames on site at the Mütze, but we also ship them.
